14th Cavalry, (159th Regiment), Second State Standard. Nicknamed the "Stanton Cavalry", the majority of the regiment was composed of men from Allegheny, Fayette, Armstrong, and Erie counties, and was organized in summer-fall 1862. A second state standard was received by the regiment sometime during or after January 1865. The 14th cavalry was mustered out of service in August 1865, and Company A returned to PA in November.
