1985.056 State Color Horstmann Brothers and Company v1p125
46th Infantry, Second State Color. The 46th regiment was formed in September 1861, and was presented with the state color on September 17, 1861. The regiment was composed of men from Mifflin, Allegheny, Lehigh, Northampton, Dauphin, Berks, Beaver, Potter, and Luzerne counties. The second state color was made to replace the first flag captured May 2, 1863. Judging by its pristine condition, this flag was probably never carried by the regiment.
