39th Infantry, (10th Reserves), First State Color. The 39th, organized in June 1861, was composed of men from Somerset, Mercer, Venango, Washington, Clarion, Beaver, Warren, and Crawford counties. The flag was received on September 10, 1861, and retired in December 1863 when a replacement was received. The regiment was mustered out of service on June 11, 1864.

The second state color was received in December 1863 and was carried during the regiment's last campaign. The regiment was mustered out of service on June 11, 1864.
