"Martinsburg Flag," presented July 12, 1861 by the people of Martinsburg, VA. The date on the flag, April 26, 1861, is the date the original three-month regiment was formed. State Color, 11th PA Infantry. After the 3-month 11th regiment was mustered out of service, the regiment was accepted for a term of three years beginning in December 1861. This flag was presented to the regiment by Governor Curtin on November 20, 1861. The 11th was composed of men from Cumberland, Dauphin, Clinton, Westmoreland, Lycoming, Northumberland, Lancaster, Allegheny, and Carbon counties. The regiment was mustered out of service July 1,1865 after being present for Lee's surrender at Appomattox Court House.

McClellan style designating flag, of 11th PA Vol., designating fourth regiment, Third Brigade, Second Division, Army of Virginia. Corporal Henry B. Temple first carried this banner, followed by Private William H. West. The 11th regiment was composed of men from Cumberland, Dauphin, Clinton, Westmoreland, Lycoming, Northumberland, Lancaster, Allegheny, and Carbon counties.
